Kidz Zone
As the first Kidz Zone established by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Parramore Kidz Zone (PKZ) and Holden Heights Kidz Zone (HHKZ) have been improving the well-being of children in Orlando’s highest poverty neighborhood for more than a decade. City funding is invested annually in partner programs located throughout the neighborhood, aimed at:
-
Increasing the number of young children attending high-quality preschool programs
-
Building positive parenting skills
-
Mitigating family economic instability
-
Enhancing children’s physical health and wellness
-
Supporting academic success among elementary, middle and high school children
-
Increasing the number of youth entering – and completing – post-secondary education
-
Keeping older youth out of trouble and on a positive track toward social and economic success.
